The year is 82 B.C, and a dark cloud looms over the Roman Senate. Five years have passed since Rome was embroiled in Civil War between Sulla and Gaius Marius, two towering figures in Roman politics. Sulla belonged to the Optimates, a political party dedicated to solidifying the power of the Senate, while Gaius Marius belonged to the Populares, who advocated for the marginalized plebeians. The Civil War did little to settle the tensions between the opposing parties, and following the death of his father, Gaius Marius the Younger has returned to Rome to carry his father's torch. Another war looms on the horizon, tensions are high, and the fate of the Republic hangs in the balance. Through trials and tribulations will the senate be united, or divided?
