Essay, Art, and Photography Contest

Our contest

MUNCH XXIV’s theme this year is Diplomacy through Dialogue. Delegates can submit one entry per category; if submitting multiple entries in different categories, please fill out the form once per submission. First place winners in each category will receive a prize and certificate at the closing ceremony! Submit all entries on this google form. The due date for all submissions is February 28th.

Visual Art and Photography Category: 

Prompt: We challenge delegates to produce a work depicting an example of productive dialogue throughout history or that they have observed in their community and the impact. 

MUNCH XXIV encourages delegates to be creative. Therefore, our art category includes photography, sculpture, drawings, paintings, collages, and all other forms of visual media. Please submit images of your work on the corresponding question of the google form. 

Essay and Literary Art Category: 

Essay prompt: What is an example of diplomacy through productive dialogue throughout history or that you have observed in your community? What was the impact? How can we learn from these instances? How can we foster similar conversation and dialgoue at MUNCH XXIV? 

Essays should be between 500-1000 words, and can be submitted as a pdf through the google form. You are welcome to follow our prompt in a more academic sense, or to create a piece of literary fiction such as a short story, flash fiction, or poem you feels answers and addresses our prompt.
